Major Injury Two Vehicle Crash

Reno, Nevada (March 14th 2026) — At 10:42 PM personnel from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reno Police Department, Truckee Meadows Fire Department and REMSA responded on a report of a two vehicle crash on Sun Valley Blvd south of Second Avenue.  The initial information revealed a WCSO Deputy was responding Code 3 with lights and sirens while to an emergency call. For unknown reasons the second vehicle crossed several lanes and struck the front of the deputy’s vehicle head on, causing major damage to both vehicles.  

The deputy’s vehicle rolled several times into the parking lot of a nearby business. The deputy was able to exit his vehicle and immediately start rendering aid to the second driver.  The 23-year-old female driver was transported with major injuries and is currently in critical condition. 
  
The Reno Police Department M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) is handling the investigation.

The victim and suspect were involved in a confrontation when the suspect produced a gun and threatened the victim. Adrian Jauregui, DOB 7/2/1983, was arrested on the above charges.

1829NORTH: Arrest - Intoxicated Pedestrian in Road / O&R / Battery by Prisoner@Sutro & 10th Streets

Officers were taking the suspect into custody when the suspect became uncooperative, physically resisted and kicked an Officer. Cristian Diaz-Lopez, DOB 9/10/1994, was arrested on the above charges.

1910NORTH: Arrest - MIC / Having Open Container Alcohol / Poss. Dangerous Drug without a RX@1900 block Bishop

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious occupied vehicle in the area and located the vehicle parked and occupied in the middle of the street. After contact with the occupants Angel Gomez, DOB 6/29/1996, and Juan Barrios, DOB 6/12/2007, were arrested on the above charges. Damien Walker, DOB 11/14/2007, was arrested for MIC, Prohibited Person Owning a Gun, Intoxicated Person in possession of a gun.

The victim was approached by the suspect who was armed with a gun and demanded the money from the register. The victim was not able to open the register so the suspect fled. There was no reported loss and the suspect is described as: W/M/A, mid sixties to mid seventies, LSW all black.
